Nicole Daedone and Rachel Cherwitz are finally being tried for running a sex cult and prostitution ring in federal court in the Eastern District. Starting in California, they branched out to New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, London, and elsewhere. Their cult, "One Taste," or "orgasmic meditation" (OM), attracted celebrity supporters including Gweneth Paltrow and Khloe Kardashian.

Daedone approached vulnerable, even traumatized women and promised them enlightenment, power, pleasure--but the women had to pay to get it and also had to have sex with any number of men who had also paid to have it. The marks/victims were closely supervised and, as in any cult, forced to isolate themselves from all others.

Why am I even writing about this sordid operation? Two reasons. First, to expose how gullible, how desperate, how lonely, how misguided--and how cheaply so many girls and women hold themselves; how easily they are tricked into Hell with heavenly promises. Second, because this sordid pair actually approached me. Me!! They "love bombed" me with an intense series of emails and phone calls. They would not stop--at least not until I exposed them by writing a piece about OM. Please note, below, how canny, how clever their approach was, and how carefully they must have researched me. Why me? Perhaps, incredibly, they wanted some kind of feminist cover for their big-money prostitution ring. Who really knows why.
