Thank you Women of Reform Judaism for Such A Warm Reception

Last night I spoke at the Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale. Elizabeth Speiser was totally efficient and welcoming. I very much enjoyed talking privately to Cantor Jill Abramson who publicly spoke of me so kindly--she had read my work in college--that I only wished that my parents were still alive to hear their rebel-daughter so praised in the gates. The Temple is large and beautiful, has 3 rabbis and serves 1,200 families. Although I had been asked to speak about "An American Bride in Kabul," clearly, clearly, the terrible times upon us both globally and in Israel have now readied more and more Jews to talk about anti-Semitism, Israel, Jihad, and the danger in which Western civilization now finds itself. I would gladly return to talk on these subjects. Here are some photos, and also 12 minutes from the Q&A. As opposed to the serious, political, "larger world" questions, I was asked whether I was at least "happy" sometimes in my first marriage to my Afghan "prince," and how, really, did I finally escape from captivity? These women were genuinely concerned about my well-being and I appreciated it.
