In 1961, 20 year-old Phyllis Chesler became the secluded and trapped property of her new Afghan husband's family.

She recounts her adventure and how relevant it is in terms of the issues facing us today, as told in her new book, An American Bride in Kabul. A brief reading will be followed by a discussion with her co-panelists, Muslim religious feminist Raquel Evita Saraswati and ex-Muslim dissident and acclaimed author, Ibn Warraq.
