Video of interview to follow
It is always refreshing to be interviewed by another "public intellectual" (if that's what I now am). We discussed feminism, Women's Studies, identity, opera, Afghanistan, Hamas, 10/7, Palestine, Iran--the usual.
I'm talking about Jonathan Church who is an author (Virtue in an Age of Identity Politics; Reinventing Racism: Why “White Fragility” Is the Wrong Way to Think About Racial Inequality), a poet, an economist, and a cancer survivor. He is smart, deep, quick, and sweet. Jonathan refers to me as an "iconic feminist." There once were many of us--now only a few are left standing. I wonder what the word "iconic" is meant to convey. One's seniority, one's celebrity, one's brand--or one's wisdom?
