Dear Readers, Dear Friends, Dear Colleagues:

I myself have been deluged by such requests. I give as much as I can to worthy causes--and I also donate to myself. I take no salary. I write my little heart out sometimes for money or, more often, for very little money. ($16.00 here, perhaps $37.00 there, sometimes an annual royalty payment of $300.00.) Just because someone is well known, even “famous” as an “icon,” does not mean that they are financially flourishing.

Alas, my operating expenses are considerable, and I’ve gone through my savings in order to support my little operation, which requires a research assistant, 24/7 tech support, webmaster, equipment, upgrades, office supplies--and the cost of books, media, live-streaming platforms, and office space.

Please help me to keep on. I would not ask if it were not necessary. My costs amount to130K each and every year. Without your help, I may have to stop my important work. I have a not-for-profit organization, and every penny will be tax-deductible.

Yes, it takes all this and more for this 85-year-young to keep on keeping on. If you visit my website and click on “categories,” you will see how many subjects I’ve studied, documented, covered, and cried out to heaven about: the reality of, rather than the romance of, mental illness, and the misdiagnosis of women and marginalized communities; culture (films, opera, books); I studied male psychology, motherhood, motherhood under siege, and SB when it was quite unfashionable to do so; and then, post 9/11, I focused on anti-American Jihad and rising antisemitism (I published one of the first books in the 21st century that suggested that anti-Zionism was the new antisemitism); Islamic gender and religious apartheid (I published a memoir titled An American Bride in Kabul--long ago, I was that bride); I also studied honor killing, the burqa, hijab, etc. I have been writing about a woman’s right to self-defense and published many articles and finally a book about my efforts to expand that right to prostituted women.

Above all, really above all, I have become a passionate student of Torah and have been publishing devrai Torah for the last 25 years. I plan to continue doing so. In 1988, I was privileged to have been chosen to open the Torah for women to read from for the first time at the Kotel, the Western Wall. I co-edited a book about that transformative, symbolic moment. Our original group, not the Reform movement group that hijacked our struggle, is still fighting for its religious rights in the Holy Land.

I became a radical feminist leader in 1967--and I am one still. J.K. Rowling and I are One. Thus, I am, thankfully, very politically incorrect, i.e., not at all “woke,” and have been publishing mainly in conservative venues for the entire 21st century. I am pro-Western Civilization, pro-America, pro-Israel. I am anti-Jihad terrorism, in favor of truth over lies, and above all, intellectual diversity.

I am the author of twenty books and thousands of articles. I have completed but not yet published a new and very surprising book (not saying about what yet) and am currently editing my diaries (1961-2000). They give Anais Nin a bit of a run for her money. I am also contemplating a book about my co-leading the grassroots feminist rescue of 400 Afghan women in 2021.

Thank you for your time and for your support of my work.

Phyllis
