Dearest Family and Friends

Dearest Family and Friends:
This is what Jews are supposed to do—turn darkness light, plunge into the dim and murky depths of a disease and surface with a miraculous medical cure, a fine point of Halacha, an amazing feat of aeronautical engineering, the daring and dangerous rescue of captives and slaves, a totally novel understanding of all those ever-evolving figures in Bereshit from Abraham to Joseph.
Light the first candle—proclaim that although we’ve lost so many to this plague, that we are still here, ever-faithful, ever-hopeful. And, even though we may not be together when we bite into a latke or a jelly doughnut, we are celebrating the Jewish world’s first ever zoom-Chanukah.
Always moving on, east of Eden...
All Best Wishes,
Phyllis
