Chesler's Facebook Chronicles

I have been in an Afghanistan state of mind lately--but I have also been alarmed by Saudi policy on atheism and on not allowing Jewish-American journalists in to cover an American President's visit; the persecution of Arab Christians by Arab Muslims and the silence of the Western mainstream media; the human rights records of China and Iran; the pimping of British children ("easy meat") by male Muslim gangs. I promise, if spring actually arrives, I will write about it but until then--here is a round-up of what's caught my attention.

Amazing Afghan Photos by Niedringhaus
The murdered naked-faced infidel AP photographer, Anja Niedringhaus, was a great photographer whose Afghan photos are magnificent. Sensitive, bold, grand, and haunting, they bring us close to Afghanistan and its people which now includes Western military personnel under attack, wounded, delivering food and releasing drones. Please note: No girls are shown playing. That light-hearted childhood diversion is for boys-only who are seen swimming, diving, playing soccer, fighting. They are laughing and smiling. The girls—little girls—are already wearing a burqa and having a hard time of it. Click here to see a selection of her photos.

NAKED-FACED WESTERN WOMAN MURDERED BY AFGHAN POLICEMAN
An Afghan police officer murdered Anja Niedringhaus, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer, in cold blood because and gravely wounded her journalist companion because they were naked-faced working women and Western infidels and because they were unarmed and vulnerable. Many other Western humanitarians, including doctors and nurses, have been kidnapped, beheaded, held for ransom or simply shot down because they were trying to minister to the needs of the Afghan people. Amazingly, unacceptably, The New York Times suggests that Niedringhaus's murder is somehow fair or at least understandable. Their page A1 article reports: "At the same time, Afghans have seen scores of their fellow citizens killed by errant American airstrikes. And even as the United States pushes for a long term security deal…it does so with the understanding that its forces will be largely hidden away behind the high walls of fortified bases."
I say: Despite strategic military interests, America should get out. There is nothing we can do to protect innocent Afghans from their tribal, tyrannical, corrupt, misogynist, and infidel-hating rulers. As British parliamentarian Rory Stewart has written, "We are not morally obliged to do that which cannot be done."

Is Afghanistan Following Me?
Wherever I turn—NCIS, the mainstream media, now the cover of TIME magazine—I inevitably find a story about Afghanistan with photos of women in blue and turquoise burqas. (I still have a nargileh from Mazar-i-Sharif that has retained its brilliant turquoise glaze to this day). America's choice, Hamid Karzai, has a wife, a physician, who has never been seen in public. Maybe she desires the anonymity the burqa provides. I just spoke this morning with a woman who has just returned from Kabul. She is well paid for her short stints there—but the city is dangerous and unstable. Afghans are voting now, perhaps the voting process is over. Ballot boxes are loaded onto the backs of donkeys (guarded by men with guns) and brought to another location for hand counting. The Presidential contenders need at least ten armed guards each, guns locked and loaded. The Taliban are on the move, central Asia and the Middle East are on fire. Our President has been on lots of mainstream television programs. He is usually smiling.

Atheism=Terrorism in Saudi Arabia
Believe it or not: The Kingdom will punish "atheism" as a thought crime and equivalent to an act of "terrorism." This includes any criticism of Islam. It describes atheism as "any thought in any form which calls into question the fundamentals of the Islamic religion." The punishment: Up to twenty years in jail. Foreigners will also be punished. The good but contradictory news: Saudi citizens who fight for Jihad (for Al Qaeda or the Muslim Brotherhood) abroad will also be punished! CAIR (The Council on American Islamic Relations) IS the Muslim Brotherhood in America. The other day, they condemned a film "The Honor Diaries" in which nine Muslim women tell the truth about their lives. I am waiting for feminists to condemn CAIR.
Hamas has recently instituted Sharia law in Gaza. One would hope that Western human rights activists, especially feminists, would now denounce Hamas and the corruption and misogyny in Gaza and condemn the "freedom flotillas" to Gaza. I am waiting.

Media Silence: Jihad on Arab Christians
Raymond Ibrahim, our most excellent colleague, has explained this puzzling media silence. The dominant and politically correct media narrative is that of Arab Muslim/ "Palestinian" innocence and helplessness up against a super-powerful Israel. Therefore, when Arab Muslims persecute and slaughter Arab Christians who lived there long before Islam arose, such pogroms do not fit the dominant media narrative which is invested mainly in blaming Israeli Jews—for breathing. Hence, the media underplays or remains silent about what Ibrahim calls "the greatest human rights tragedy of our time." Ibrahim writes:
"The facts speak for themselves. Reliable estimates indicate that anywhere from 100-200 million Christians are persecuted every year; one Christian is martyred every five minutes. Approximately 85% of this persecution occurs in Muslim majority nations. In 1900, 20% of the Middle East was Christian. Today, less than 2% is.
In one week in Egypt alone, from which my Christian family emigrated, the Muslim Brotherhood launched a kristallnacht—attacking, destroying, and/or torching some 82 Christian churches (some of which were built in the 5th century, when Egypt was still a Christian-majority nation before the Islamic conquests). Al-Qaeda's black flag has been raised atop churches. Christian—including priests, women, and children—have been attacked, beheaded, and killed."
In contrast, Israel protects all religious minorities and does not institute pogroms against them—thus, there is no blame-the-Jew story here. The Big Story remains uncovered, namely that Arab Muslims, not Israeli Jews, are the aggressors, occupiers, and ethnic cleansers in the region.

China, Iran: World's Top Executioners
Amnesty International has documented (as much as possible) that China, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia—and America are top offenders. Amnesty refers to "virtual killing sprees (in Iran and Iraq that were) shameful." The numbers cannot be exact, only approximate. Amnesty believes that the Chinese government executes "thousands" every year. Iran officially admitted to executing 369 people but "credible sources" have persuaded Amnesty that the total number of executions is "more than seven hundred." Iraq has executed 169 people; Saudi Arabia has executed 70 people; America (included in the mix) has executed 39 people, and Somalia has executed 34 human beings.
In Iran, these executions are often public—meant to terrorize the people further and also accustom them to gross barbarism. I wrote about Rayhaneh Jabbari, the woman who is facing execution in Iran. To date, a petition to halt her execution has been signed by 76,909 people. Please keep on signing.

Saudi Arabia Judenrein: Should Obama Go There?
Saudi Arabia has denied a visa to the only American journalist who is also a Jew and an American citizen. Michael Wilner is not an Israeli, and not an Israeli citizen. Wilner is the Washington D.C. bureau chief for the Jerusalem Post. While American officials have expressed their objections, the matter has been "decided." Wilner said:
"I am an American journalist covering the travel of an American president…we have little doubt that my access was denied either because of my media affiliation or because of my religion."
As I have said many times: Islam is the largest practitioner of both religious and gender apartheid. Islamist Muslims are demanding respect for Islamic practices in the West even as they exile, persecute, and slaughter religious minorities, including Christians, in Muslim countries.

Easy Meat: Multiculturalism, Islam, and Child Sex Slavery
When I talk about honor killings, many western feminists assume I am criticizing Islam and that to do so is a thought crime more odious than horror killing a daughter or a wife. The fact that Hindus in India and Sikhs also perpetrate honor killings, that this is not a Muslim-only crime has not yet registered. However, these are the kind of feminists who historically have been pro-pornography, pro-prostitution, pro-surrogacy, pro-father's rights in terms of child custody. They ARE feminists but these are their positions. To be fair, they actually have some good points on their side.
When one tries to talk about normalized Muslim-style daughter and wife beating and stalking, western feminists quickly point out that male domestic violence is a global phenomenon and not confined to one ethnicity or religion. Here again, they are wrong. While male domestic violence IS a global tragedy, the Islamic version of it is different and worse. Most western fathers do not spy on their daughters, have their sons stalk them, or beat them into submission daily. Many—not all--Muslim fathers do just this.
Today, Soeren Kern published an article about child sex slavery in the UK. He focuses on a new report about the large-scale "grooming" of non-Muslim girls (11-16) by gangs of Muslim men into sex slavery. These men do not prey upon Muslim girls. The government, police force, and media have been "multi-culturally correct" and very reluctant to expose this phenomenon or to charge these men. I am sure that many feminists would say that men all over the world buy and sell women, kidnap or trick them into prostitution. And they are right.
The report is meticulous. It documents that "officials in England and Wales were aware of rampant child grooming—the process by which sexual predators befriend and build trust with children in order to prepare them for abuse—by Muslim gangs since at least 1988". Rather than taking steps to protect British children, however, police, social workers, teachers, politicians, neighbors, deliberately downplayed the severity of the crimes perpetrated by the grooming gangs in order to avoid being accused of "Islamophobia" or racism. How can we prevent such crimes and prosecute such criminals in the West if we are busy falling all over ourselves trying not to appear "racist?" Can't we expose and prosecute all those, women as well as men, Muslims and anyone else, who ensnare children into lives of sex slavery? If gangs of African Christians did this in the UK or if white European men did so, I would expose them and move to stop them just as quickly.
Islamic doctrine, Islamic history, and individual Muslim interpretations of the Koran support the sexual use of non-Muslim girls and women as "easy meat." It also supports a tax on infidels (jizya) which some may say is now being exacted in the West in the form of state welfare, housing, education, health care, etc. Read the report, read Kern's summary of the report—then tell me what you think.
