Oct 10, 2013
In 1961, 20 year-old Phyllis Chesler became the secluded and trapped property of her new Afghan husband's family. She recounted her adventure and how relevant it is in terms of the issues facing us today at the 92nd St Y on October 1st. These interviews were conducted after a brief reading of her book, An American Bride in Kabul, and was followed by a discussion with her co-panelists, Muslim religious feminist Raquel Evita Saraswati and ex-Muslim dissident and acclaimed author, Ibn Warraq.
