Ashraf Ramelah, the Egyptian Coptic Christian who publishes “The Voice of the Copts,” a Newsletter, came to visit together with Sandra Wideman with whom he works. Ashraf fled Egypt when he was sixteen, went to Italy, became an Italian citizen, a political activist, and an architect. He has stories galore. Now, he and Sandra have gotten a building not far from Rome—and the first and only one of its kind—to be dedicated to Christian refugees who have been housed together with the Muslims whose contempt and persecution they’d hoped to escape.
