What's New about the New Anti-Semitism?

Professor George Jochnowitz, a gentleman and a scholar, (he is a linguist), has just republished his review of my 2003 book The New Anti-Semitism. The Coming Crisis and What We Must Do About It.

I wrote this book in 2001-2002, and published it almost immediately thereafter. I am now sobered by my own prescience, by how on-target I was about what was "new" about anti-Semitism in the 21st century: namely, that it was coming to us from the Left and from the intelligentsia, as well as from the Islamic world and that anti-Zionism was, indeed, a core part of the "new" anti-Semitism. I also stressed the important role that media, the internet, and "fauxtography," (doctored, and staged images of Jewish and Israeli aggression) all played in the escalation of a genocidal hatred against Israel and the Jews.

I wrote about the betrayal of both the truth and the Jews by the Western academic establishment, including leftists, feminists, and gay liberationists--and by lynch mobs in the Islamic world. I wrote, darkly, early on, about the possibility of a Second and "slow" Holocaust being underway, one that started in Israel, in 2001-2002.

At the time, these insights were praised by some but mainly challenged or minimized. Conservatives welcomed my message. My own circles condemned it. The mainstream media and the professional Jewish world "disappeared" this work for nearly a decade. Last year, I took the work out of print, intending to update it.

Now, most paid Jewish professionals repeat these insights as if they have re-invented this wheel—or knew such truths all along. Others—worthy and younger warriors—have come forward and are now running with this issue. I wish them strength and courage. They will need it.

As for myself, I believe I have almost exhausted this theme at this time. I do not like repeating myself over and over again. I do not like writing something without making enough of a difference soon enough. (Yes, I am very impatient). Of course, when something comes along that strikes even me as "over the top," I will not be able to resist having my say—but in truth, I can no longer afford to go without proper funding in order to continue that part of this work that is mine alone.

Therefore, to my delight and amazement, Professor Jochnowitz has just republished his original review of The New Anti-Semitism at Perry Greenbaum's site. And I am am linking, here, to a video of my speech, "The New Anti-Semitism: Reflections After A Decade of the Front Lines," that I delivered on February 28, 2013, on the subject for my friend and colleague, Dr. Charles Small, the founder of the International Study of ISGAP: Institute for the Study of Global Anti-Semitism And Policy.

I will update and republish my book. And, from time to time, I will continue to weigh in on this issue which remains close to my heart. However, I will focus more on Islamic gender apartheid and on honor-based violence, including honor killing—and on issues such as free speech/hate speech and varieties of censorship. These issues are all connected. But, "there is a time to sow and a time to reap," each season, each burning issue in its time.

I welcome your feedback and support.
